PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rubber composition which simultaneously has good fatigue resistance, crack resistance, and initial physical property-holding characteristics. SOLUTION: This rubber composition comprises 100 pts. wt. of a rubber component comprising 80 to 50 pts. wt. of natural rubber and/or polyisoprene rubber and 20 to 50 pts. wt. of polybutadiene rubber, 40 to 60 pts. wt. of carbon black having a nitrogen adsorption specific surface area of≥90 m<SP>2</SP>/g, 0.3 to 1.8 pts. wt. of a compounding agent A represented by the formula: (C<SB>6</SB>H<SB>5</SB>-CH<SB>2</SB>)<SB>2</SB>N-(C=S)-(S)<SB>y</SB>-(CH<SB>2</SB>)<SB>x</SB>-(S)<SB>y</SB>-(C=S)-N(CH<SB>2</SB>-C<SB>6</SB>H<SB>5</SB>)<SB>2</SB>[(x) is 3 to 12; (y) is 1 to 8], and a vulcanization accelerator. The rubber composition satisfies the following relation:(a)/(b)=0.35 to 0.55, wherein (a) is the amount of the compounding agent A; (b) is the amount of the vulcanization accelerator, per 100 pts. wt. of the rubber component.
