PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an imaging unit capable of informing a user of a transfer state of image data carried out via an IEEE 1394 serial bus in an easily understandable way by the user. SOLUTION: When the imaging unit (a digital still camera and a digital video camera or the like) connectable to the IEEE 1394 serial bus transfers the image data via the IEEE 1394 serial bus, the imaging unit visually informs the user of its transfer state.
