The method involves analyzing electronic-mails and associated data files. A list of characteristics of the data files is constituted. Information related to the electronic-mails and the list of characteristics of the files is transmitted, by a remote mail server, to a determined user terminal across a telecommunication network. A list of electronic-mail and the list of characteristics of the files are displayed on the terminal. An independent claim is also included for an electronic-mail processing system.
