A method for electro-chemically measuring the hematocrit (Hct) value of blood by means of a sensor with a high measurement accuracy and a high reliability and a sensor used for the method are disclosed. In the method, an electrode system having a working electrode (11) and a counter electrode (12) is prepared, no redox substance is provided on the working electrode (11), a redox substance is provided on the counter electrode (12), a blood is introduced into the electrode system, a voltage is applied to the electrode system in this state, a current flowing between the working electrode (11) and the counter electrode (12) is detected, and the Hct value is determined from the current value.
