<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an active matrix display device which performs satisfactory display operation when supplying signals by current signals. <P>SOLUTION: The active matrix display device is provided with a plurality of pixels 100 arranged like a matrix on a substrate, each of which includes a display element 110 and a pixel circuit 120 for supplying a driving current to the display element, image signal lines Xm arranged along the pixels, and an image signal driver 300 for supplying a gradation current to the pixels through the image signal lines after supplying a base current to the image signal lines.
