PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus which can carry out speed changing of a polygon scanner motor at a high speed by improving the traceability by clock changing. SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus with the polygon scanner motor 3 has a compulsory acceleration deceleration block 7 which compulsorily accelerates and decelerates a rotation speed of the polygon scanner motor 3 by signal setting.
