A tracer-unit comprises a rotary cam or eccentric device 23 for converting deflections of the tracer 4 into axial movements of a slidevalve 2. The unit-casing consists of a housing 1 containing a valve 2 as described in Specification 692,642, parts 10, 11, a screwed connector-sleeve 12, and a lower housing 9 carrying a ball-seated tracer 4, as described in Specifications 692,642 and 757,589. Tilting and axial movements of the tracer are transmitted through a ball 16, a slide 14 and a ball 20 to a lever 21. Rocking of the lever causes oscillation of an adjustable eccentric 23 which, in turn, causes axial movement of the valve 2. (The lever 21 and ball 20 may be replaced by a ball-ended screw 30, Fig. 3.) Movements of the tracer are steadied by a spring 29 adjusted by a screw 29a.</p> |
