OPTICAL RECORDING MEDIUM AND INFORMATION RECORDING METHOD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical recording medium having high productivity and high recording density and enabling sub information to be reproduced therefrom while exhibiting satisfactory reliability and to provide an information recording method for recording sub information at low costs and in a short period of time.

SOLUTION: The optical recording medium having a recording layer in which main information and sub information are recorded is characterized in that sub information is recorded by using a long wavelength laser having a wavelength 30 nm or more longer than the wavelength of a short wavelength laser used when main information is recorded and the absorbance of the long wavelength laser in a region in which sub information is recorded is ≥0.05. The information recording method of the optical recording medium having the recording layer in which main information and sub information are recorded is characterized in that main information is recorded by using the short wavelength laser having ≤500 nm wavelength and sub information is recorded by using the long wavelength laser.
