<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a radio wave type searching apparatus for searching an object to be searched which is simplified and small-sized by using an offset power feeding type patch antenna for a transmission antenna or a reception antenna so as to scan radiation radio waves over a wide range and to measure the distance to the object to be searched, and a radio wave type searching method. <P>SOLUTION: The radio wave type searching apparatus is roughly composed of a transmitter 1 comprising a transmission part 11 and a transmission antenna 19, a receiver 2 comprising a reception part 21 and a reception antenna 29, and a signal processor 3.
