PRINT MEDIA SHEET SEPARATING ARRANGEMENT FOR A PRINTER

Paper feed arrangement (20) prevents double or multiple feeding when lifting sheets off stack (30). Bar (60) applies suction adjacent to the leading edge of uppermost sheet of stack (30). Swing arms (58) raise bar (60) and the attached sheet. Air is blown underneath the sheet by air bar (82) and the leading edge of the sheet snags against fingers (94) but is carried past them. These actions detach or strip any sheets carried with the uppermost sheet and such sheets fall back onto stack (30). Swing arms (58) continue rising and direct the leading edge of the sheet to primary drive rollers (96) of printing station (18).
