PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To secure execution of mass production of a tip-less type ultra-compact type discharge lamp by enabling use of a connecting member for relative position retention of an electrode. SOLUTION: This is constituted of (a) a sealed body (10b) in which a light emitting part (3) is formed at one end and which is formed of a sealing part (9) extended from a sealing side (3a) of the light emitting part (3), (b) electrodes (1) (2) which are arranged and installed in the light emitting part (3) and in which the electrode base parts (1b) and (2b) are connected to power supply parts (4), (5) led out from the sealing part (9), (c) a metallic connecting member (14b) which is mounted onto the electrode base parts (1b), (2b) and cut between the electrode base parts (1b), (2b), (d) a through-hole (15) for filling a necessary material which is formed between end parts of the light emitting part (3) and the sealing part (9) outside of either one of the power supply parts (4), (5) and in which at least its one place is occluded, and (e) a space (8) for cutting the metallic connecting member formed at the portion matching to the metallic connecting member (14b) between the power supply parts (4), (5) of the sealing part (9).
