PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a digital camera having an excellent operability and also capable of easily searching an image file after recording. SOLUTION: The digital camera 1A records image data related to a photographing image to a recording folder generated in a storage area of a memory card 5 being a recording medium as an image file. The upper limit number Nmax of image files is set to one recording folder as the number of recordable image files in the digital camera 1A. When the number of image files in a current recording folder exceeds the upper limit number Nmax in a "single shot mode" of a "1 frame shot mode" for making one photographing, the current recording folder is changed into other recording folder.
