PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable to make a discharge device applicable to a public air cleaning device by reducing a discharge sound of the discharge device to carry out streamer discharge. SOLUTION: By making a width dimension (w) of the tip of a discharge electrode (13) relatively shorter than a spacing dimension (L) between the tip of the discharge electrode (13) and a counter electrode (14), frequency of the sound at the streamer discharge is made a high frequency, and hard to be caught by human acoustic sense, and noises in the streamer discharge are reduced.
