PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To perform display in a display form, taking into consideration the posting to such a business form etc, in which squares for writing numerical values are preliminarily printed. SOLUTION: In the display device consisting of a plurality of Japanese character segments, a separation segment 2b, divided into three which is the display of three digits separation, is provided between the Japanese character segments regarding display of three digits separation, and a segment shape changeover switch which switches the display shape of the separation segment 2b is provided. For example, when the position of the segment shape changeover switch is "present" of deformation and a display example is 10 digits as "1, 234, 567, 898.", all of three separation segments 2b1 to 2b3 are displayed on the right of the (S+9)th digit, the two separation segments 2b1, 2b2 from the bottom are displayed on the right of the (S+6)th digit, one separation segment 2b1 from the bottom is displayed on the right of the (S+3)th digit, and the display of three digits separation is obtained (refer to Figure (a)).
