<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve convenience of an ID card by allowing easy confirmation of password information (a secret code number) of the ID card. <P>SOLUTION: This password information confirmation device 1 reads personal information about a card holder from an IC memory incorporated in the ID card, acquires the personal information about the card holder of the ID card from a host computer 3, and collates the secret code number included in the personal information read from the IC memory, the secret code number included in the personal information acquired from the host computer, and the secret code number inputted by the card holder. When the secret code number stored in the IC memory and the secret code number inputted by the card holder do not coincide, the password information confirmation device 1 prompts the card holder to designate whether reissuing the ID card of the inputted secret code number or not, and requires the reissue of the ID card to an ID card issuing device 2 when the reissue of the ID card is designated. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
