PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a magnetic carrier which can maintain a high sharpness image by stably imparting an electrostatic charge to toner for a period longer than the conventional resin coated carrier and a two-component developer. SOLUTION: The magnetic carrier has a coating layer treated at the temperature at which the organic components in a siloxane resin are decomposed after the surfaces of core particles are coated with a resin containing the siloxane resin. Accordingly, such magnetic carrier has the secure coating layer which has high toner contamination resistance and hardly peels and therefore the high sharpness image having excellent developability can be provided for a long period when the magnetic carrier is used for a developer.
