PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the equipment cost of waste water treatment equipment for treating water used for granulating molten slag. SOLUTION: An exhaust gas treating line 23 provided with a secondary combustion chamber 16 of a burner type ash melting furnace I, a gas cooling chamber 20 for treating fly ash and a bag filter 21 in this order is arranged on the downstream side of an exhaust gas outlet 14 of the burner type ash melting furnace I. A slag water-granulating unit 27 constituted so that molten slag granulating water 28 stored in a cooling water tank 29 is circulated and the circulated molten slag granulating water is jetted toward a slag falling position is arranged on the lower end side of a discharge chute 26 arranged at a slag discharging port 9 of the burner type ash melting furnace I. A spray nozzle 37 arranged in the secondary combustion chamber 16 is connected to the cooling water tank 29 by a water withdrawing line 35 provided with a forwarding pump 36. The molten slag granulating water 28 which contains heavy metals and various kinds of salt and is stored in the cooling water tank 29 is sprayed toward the inside of the secondary combustion chamber 16 from the spray nozzle 37 so that the heavy metals and various kinds of salt are dried, formed into powder and subjected to post treatment such as fixation of the heavy metals together with the fly ash 25.
