<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide equipment for inspecting the misregistration of an image accurately. <P>SOLUTION: The equipment for inspecting the misregistration of an image inspects the misregistration of a printed image in a main scanning direction and a sub-scanning direction by reading out image misregistration inspection patterns sequentially from an inspection sheet printed with the image misregistration inspection patterns prepared for respective color materials used in a print process. The equipment for inspecting the misregistration of an image comprises a means 117 for calculating the amount of misregistration from a known position based on the read-out results of a reference pattern having a known position provided outside a range where the image misregistration inspection pattern is arranged, and means 122 and 123 for correcting reading positions of image misregistration inspection patterns based on the amount of misregistration. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
