DISPERSION COMPENSATOR

摘要

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a dispersion compensator capable of compensating dispersion of optical fiber transmission and changing dispersion control needed for waveform shaping with simple constitution.

SOLUTION: The dispersion compensator is provided with at least one optical fiber 111 which has a core where a grating 12 is formed and a heat generating part which controls a temperature distribution of the grating 112 in a light propagation direction, wherein the heat generation part has a plurality of heat generating elements 114 which are arrayed in the light propagation direction; and a 1st heat generating element included in the plurality of heat generating elements 114 has a 1st conductor layer formed of a material having 1st resistivity and a 2nd heat generating element included in the plurality of heat generating elements 114 has a 2nd conductor layer formed of a material having 2nd resistivity different from the 1st resistivity.
