摘要 An apparatus for compensating the imbalance of the phase and the gain between I channel and Q channel by using the variable loop gain in an orthogonal demodulator is provided to prevent the performance deterioration of demodulator due to the imbalance between I channel and Q channel by supplying the function to detect and compensate the imbalance between the I channel and the Q channel. An apparatus for compensating the imbalance of the phase and the gain between I channel and Q channel by using the variable loop gain in an orthogonal demodulator includes a phase imbalance detection unit and a phase imbalance compensation unit. The phase imbalance detection unit calculates the phase error signal by multiplying the reference channel by the target channel and detects the phase imbalance between the reference channel and the target channel by using the phase error signal and the selected variable loop gain according to the average value of the phase error signal. The phase imbalance compensation unit removes the phase imbalance of the target channel based on multiplying the phase imbalance value detected by the phase imbalance detection unit and the reference channel.
