PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To positively jet a coolant to the outer peripheral surface of a grinding wheel and to supply the coolant to a grinding point by optimizing the arrangement and discharge port shape of nozzles for discharging a fluid jet, to positively intercept an air layer swirling along the outer peripheral surface of the grinding wheel. SOLUTION: This grinding wheel device for grinding a workpiece W by the disk-shaped rotating grinding wheel G having a grinding wheel layer 16 on the outer peripheral surface, while supplying the coolant 33, is provided with a coolant nozzle 32 for supplying the coolant 33 to the outer peripheral surface Ga of the grinding wheel G, and a fluid nozzle 41 located upstream of the coolant nozzle 32 in the rotating direction of the grinding wheel G to jet a fluid jet from one side face side of the grinding wheel G toward the other side face side. The fluid nozzle 41 is formed such that the discharge port 41a of the tip is shaped to extend long in the radial direction of the grinding wheel G and that the length C of the long side is not less than the added length of a shortest distance A between the tip of the coolant nozzle and the outer peripheral surface of the grinding wheel and the thickness C of the grinding wheel layer.
