PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an AC generator for a vehicle that can attach a permanent magnet between claw-shaped magnetic poles in the state that the magnetization direction of the permanent magnet is in a correct direction. SOLUTION: The AC generator for a vehicle is provided with a rotor that comprises: Lundell-type cores 14, 15 in which the differently orientated claw-shaped magnetic poles 14a, 15a are arranged so as to alternately oppose each other in the rotative direction, and a cylindrical magnetic field winding 16 is wound around the cores; and the permanent magnet 23 that increases magnetism and is fittingly arranged between the claw-shaped magnetic poles 14a, 15a. The permanent magnet 23 is wrapped and held by a holder 24, and the permanent magnet 23 and the holder 24 are engaged through recesses and protrusions. COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI
