<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and a device for producing a hard copy capable of suitably expressing, for example, glazing and texture and three-dimensionality of the material in a hard copy such as a photographic print or a printed sheet, and capable of observing an image of a proper density, and the hard copy. <P>SOLUTION: In production of a hard copy, an image is recorded on a recording medium in accordance with an image signal, and the surface roughness of the image-recorded recording medium in the image-printed area is controlled. In the production, the image signal of the image to be recorded or the signal for controlling the surface roughness is corrected by use of a reference table of the density differential between the image density before surface roughness control is performed and the observed image density after the surface roughness control is performed, such that the observed image density after the surface roughness control is performed attains the image density of the image to be printed. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
