PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image processor capable of flexibly corresponding to changes in the algorithm of image processing by suitably setting an image processing range. SOLUTION: In a digital copying device 1, a DSP 3 applies image processing such as ground removing processing to image data of an original read out by a scanner 4 and the processed image is recorded and outputted by a printer 5 or transferred to a computer. In this case, a p-window (execution processing range) to be practically image-processed is computed on the basis of the information of a main scanning area of a selected image area and processing unit information in the main scanning direction of a DSP 3 which is an image processing device for performing image processing and the p-window is set in a range which is the inside of image area information and does not exceed an original area. Thereby the p-window can be set by calculating a main scanning position for image processing by the image processing device such as the DSP 3 and the image processing matched with the image selection range can be performed by the image processing device.
