<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ink jet recording material which shows high ink absorbency and can obtain a matted and placid image with profundity. <P>SOLUTION: This ink jet recording material has at least one ink acceptance layer containing an inorganic pigment with an average secondary particle diameter of 1 to 10 μm as a main component, formed on a paper support composed mainly of a natural pulp and a top layer containing alumina or an alumina hydrate as an inorganic pigment, formed on the ink acceptance layer. The content equivalent to not less than 55 wt% of the inorganic pigment of the top layer is constituted of the alumina or the alumina hydrate and the 75° mirror surface glossiness as prescribed by JIS-P-8142 of the surface of the top layer is not more than 20%. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
