PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a small-sized planetary gear type multi-stage transmission for a vehicle, widely taking a change gear ratio and obtaining suitable seven or more forward gear ratios in shifting. SOLUTION: In a first shifting part 36, a first rotational element RE1 is fixed to a transmission case 12, a second rotational element RE2 is connected to an input shaft 16, and a third rotational element RE3 gives output to a second shifting part 38. In the second shifting part 38, a fourth rotational element RE4 is selectively connected to a first intermediate output member, and selectively connected to a second intermediate output member. A fifth rotational element RE5 is selectively connected to the first intermediate output member and selectively connected to the second intermediate output member. A sixth rotational element RE6 is selectively connected to the first intermediate output member, and selectively connected to the transmission case 12, a seventh rotational element RE7 is connected to an output shaft 26, and an eighth rotational element RE8 is selectively connected to the transmission case 12.
