<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a printer selection method that enables a user to select an appropriate printer, in an environment where a plurality of printers are shared, by weighting the printers based on the contents of their specifications related to resource savings and the environment, and displaying the result. <P>SOLUTION: A printer driver program is installed in an information processor having a display means. The printer driver program registers a plurality of specification items related to the resource-saving feature and the environmental friendliness of the printers 2a-2e and the contents of the specifications thereof, and weights the specification items based on the contents of the specifications. The program then sums up the weights of all the specification items for each of the printers 2a-2e, calculates the total of the weights, ranks the printers 2a-2e according to the totals, and causes the display means to display the specification items, the weights of the specification items, the sum of the weights, and the rank of each of the printers 2a-2e. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
