A sugar chain-cutting agent containing a protein which has an effect of degrading chondroitin or chondroitin sulfate; a drug having the sugar chain-cutting agent as the active ingredient; a method of specifically cutting a sugar chain at least involving the step of treating chondroitin and/or chondroitin sulfate with the above protein; and a method of specifically producing a degraded sugar chain at least involving the step of treating chondroitin and/or chondroitin sulfate with the above protein.
