PURPOSE: A washing method of a washing machine is provided to compute accurately the conductivity of the water with a conductivity calculating unit by compensating temperature of the conductivity calculating unit according to peripheral temperature and correcting detection deviation. CONSTITUTION: A washing method of a washing machine is composed of steps for detecting temperature around the washing machine(S1); detecting the temperature of the water by a temperature sensor(S3); sensing potential difference of the water by an electrode sensor and computing conductivity of the water by a conductivity calculating unit from the detected potential difference(S4); compensating temperature of the conductivity calculating unit according to the sensed peripheral temperature(S6); correcting detection deviation of the conductivity calculating unit according to a compensated detected value of the conductivity calculating unit(S8); computing the hardness of the water and the amount of detergents by the corrected conductivity and detected temperature of the water(S9); and executing a washing course by setting a washing algorism according to the computed value(S10,S11).
