<p>On the printing cylinder are applied a layer of pigment, illuminated after application, and on it a transparent image, particularly photographic, then etching to eliminate pigment at non-illuminated points and to etch cylinder surface there. Use of solid or thick-walled re-usable cylinders; preparation time 1 hour, as against several; clear image, not needing retouching, and similar to engraving by hand with burring or dry-point; good gradation of colours.</p> |
