IMPACT-ABSORBING MEMBER

摘要

An impact-absorbing member capable of reducing an initial load without having a crush bead and capable of achieving a sufficient impact-absorbing amount with a stable buckling behavior. The impact-absorbing member is formed from a tubular body with a length L and has a lateral cross-sectional shape with 2n number of corners by having 2n (n represents a natural number not less than 3) number of ridge lines and 2n number of faces divided by the 2n number of ridge lines. The impact-absorbing member absorbs impact energy by buckling with a load applied from axially one end of the member to the other end. A region including some of the 2n number of ridge lines presents only between a position whose distance from the axially one end is h and the other end, and the region satisfies the following expressions when the number of the ridge lines having the length L is m: h<=Lx0.30 .....
