PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a protein measuring instrument and a protein measuring method capable of measuring a trace protein contained in a micro-sample easily, simply and highly sensitively, only using the micro-sample, without using an expensive measuring device or facility. SOLUTION: This protein measuring instrument is provided with a filter 3 capable of adsorbing the protein of an object to be examined, a hapten storage part 4 for supplying a hapten coupled with the protein, and an antibody storage part 5 for supplying an antibody labelled with a coloring substance coupled selectively to the hapten coupled with the protein. The filter 3 comprises a membrane which, by coming into contact with the hapten in the hapten storage part 4, makes the pre-adsorbed protein couple with the hapten, or by adsorbing the hapten-coupled protein on the surface thereof and coming into contact with the antibody in the antibody storage part 5, can detect and/or determine quantitatively the protein visually.
