摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a measurement method and a measuring apparatus that are capable of measuring even a small sample and can be utilized simply without requiring any expertise. SOLUTION: The apparatus for measuring Young's modulus comprises a mechanism for keying a hung sample for allowing acoustic vibration to be generated, and an acoustic-electric transducer, such as a microphone, for detecting sound waves by the acoustic vibration occurring in the sample. In the apparatus, the power spectrum of a sound wave signal from the acousto-electric transducer is measured, analysis is made by fast-Fourier transform for reading the frequency of natural resonance, and the Young's modulus is obtained, based on the detected resonance frequency and the dimensions and density of the sample.
