<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a user interface control device and method capable of enhancing the operability by substituting the expression of a user interface designed by an application developer by a UI part easily usable by a user to customize the user interface so as to be further easily usable. <P>SOLUTION: In a client computer 101, a communication part 205 acquires application software including an element describing the expression of the user interface and an element describing a data model expressed by the user interface from an application server 102 through a network 103, and a UI part retrieval part 207 retrieves the UI part having an expression of the user's choice, which can be substituted by the element of the data model from an individual UI part library 206.
