BREEDING OF CAMPANULA CULTIVAR JIGYEO HAVING PROLONGED FLOWERING TIME AND IMPROVED PROPERTIES

PURPOSE: A breeding of Campanula cultivar Jigyeo is provided, which Campanula cultivar Jigyeo has prolonged flowering time and improved properties, so that it can be useful in gardening and flowering industry. CONSTITUTION: The breeding of Campanula cultivar "Jigyeo" is prepared by hybridizing Campanula cultivar "Aegee" as a mother plant with Campanula punctata var. rubiflora Max.(Chajoo) as a father plant, and has the properties of: reduced total size; reduced joint number of flower stalk; leaf which has cilia on the surface, and no leafstalk in the developed flower stalk during its growth; multiflowering and dwarfed stem length; flower color of purple; flowering time of 3 to 4 months; and vegetative propagation in the form of runner.
