PURPOSE: A method for enabling look-ups between connected apparatuses using a safe hierarchical name space in a peer-to-peer network is provided to enable a name resolution in an authority independently from an IP(Internet Protocol) request of the authority. CONSTITUTION: At least one cryptographic key associated with a name space is generated(410). An authority is created using one of the cryptographic keys(420). The at least one name space is enabled to refer to the authority via requesting authorities associated with the at least one name space to issue a peer-to-peer type resolution so that names of the name space are resolved to the authority(430). For any other name spaces to which communication is attempted, a resolution, which indicates the authority and the at least one name space which is associated with the other name space, is issued to resolve to one or more of the other authorities(440).
