摘要 PURPOSE: An optical element for display, having the surface coated with an absorptive material, and a manufacturing method are provided to minimize the waste of light projected inside by filling between waveguides with a material of refractive index lower than the waveguide and to prevent loss of light between the waveguides by contacting continuously the bottom sides of adjacent waveguides. CONSTITUTION: A manufacturing method for an optical element for display, having the surface coated with an absorptive material(40), is composed of steps for injecting liquid photopolymer material into a mold plate in which spaces corresponding to the shape of a waveguide(22) are arranged horizontally or/and vertically; attaching a transparent substrate(10) to one surface corresponding to the bottom side of the photopolymer waveguide; hardening the photopolymer material by photopolymerization after exposing to ultraviolet rays and forming the photopolymer material into a waveguide array(20); removing the mold plate from the waveguide array; filling and hardening a gap(24) between the waveguides of the waveguide array with materials(50) with refractive index different from the waveguide; and coating the absorptive material over the surface of the filled material and then sticking a front transparent plate(30).
