A slider capable of providing excellent barometric pressure variation characteristics by securing an air amount flowing into an air lubrication surface in an area where the relative speed of the slider to a disk is small or an area where the air inflow amount is hard to secure due to the reduced area of the air lubrication surface by forming a groove formation surface in a specified shape. In the negative pressure utilizing type slider, separately from a negative pressure generating recessed part, the groove formation surface lower in height than an air inflow surface is formed between the disk inner peripheral end side and the disk outer peripheral end side of the air inflow surface in the air flow incoming end side of a pressure generating surface.
