PURPOSE: An external storage device compatible with a device supporting the USB(Universal Serial Bus) is provided to simply extend a memory capacity of the storage device, and offer portability and use convenience. CONSTITUTION: A body is embedded with a memory extending circuit forming at least more than one slot attaching a flash memory card(120). A cable is drawn out from one side of the body and transmits/receives a data signal with a host device by electrically connecting to the memory extending circuit(100). A USB connector is formed to an end of the cable. The memory extending circuit includes a USB interface(106), a packet classifier(108), a command processor(110), an address processor(112), a data processor(114), and an MTD(Memory Technology Driver)(116). The MTD includes an address mapping part(1161), a packet processor(1162), and an extension processor(1164).
