The strainer rod has a spacing element in the form of a welded coating on the side surface of the rod. The spacing element has a basic spacing from the base surface of the strainer rod facing away from the abrasion surface, and extends along the side surface no further than the hard layer. It also extends transversely to the longitudinal axis of the side surface, further than this surface, and decreases in thickness perpendicularly to the side surface.
