PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a dry-type high voltage resistor device which adopts aΔconnection which is considered inappropriate for high voltage with the use of high voltage resistor element having a particular insulating structure, and also to provide a method for preventing an arc-discharge of the device. SOLUTION: The high voltage resistor element 1 comprises a high voltage insulating sleeve 19 insertion fixed in extraction free at a region approaching to both ends supported by various supports 12a comprising a metal cylindrical outer casing 2. A three-phase resistor circuitαis composed by theΔconnection of a resistor row phase 10 comprising a plurality of the high voltage resistor elements 1 connected in series. The resistor device has a characterized constitutional means having a high voltage resistor circuitβcomprising a parallel connection of a plurality of the three phase resistor circuitα.
