PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a evacuation device for a building capable of allowing a connection ladder common to respective floors to rapidly descend by simple unlocking operation from either one of the respective floors to smoothly and rapidly perform refuge or rescue from either one of the floors and capable of preventing the descent of the connection ladder even if a wire is cut at the time of falling of the connection ladder at the time of a fire or the like. SOLUTION: When the operation lever provided to each of the floors of the building is operated from either one of the floors at the time of a fire, a lock mechanism is released to deliver a wire 9 from a take-up mechanism 11. Therefore, a plurality of the superposed ladder parts of the connection ladder 2 slide along the outer wall of the building to descend to a evacuate position. When the connection ladder 2 descends along the outer wall of the building, a person transfers to each of the ladder parts from the window of each floor to evacuate.
