PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a paper feeding device capable of driving a paper carrying roller and a paper feeding roller by one driving motor and capable of smoothly carrying in carrying to a recording preparation position before performing overlap record to a paper. SOLUTION: The paper feeding device includes a paper carrying roller driving gear 2, an intermediate gear 8, a main transmission gear 9, a rocking gear 11 having a first gear 11a and a second gear 11b, a paper feeding roller driving gear 12, a subordinate transmission gear 13, and a control part 7 for controlling a rotation direction of the driving motor 6, and is so structured that a peripheral speed of the paper feeding roller 21 is lower than a peripheral speed of the paper carrying roller 12, and a state that the second gear 11b of the rocking gear 11 is meshed with the paper feeding roller driving gear 12 is maintained in carrying to the recording preparation position before performing the overlap record to the paper P.
