The mixing device has a combustion tube (10), a flame tube (12) and a jet rod (28) in the combustion tube. The jets (18) lead into the flame tube. The burner has separating disk (14) to close off the flame tube cavity round the jets from the combustion tube cavity, with air passage apertures offset from each other in the circumferential direction. Air tubes (34) project from these into the flame tube. Their axes are all curved the same way circumferentially.
