PURPOSE: A defect management system and a method for supporting a number portability service are provided to construct an integrated subscriber network management system which receives a number portability service, consequently a smooth defect management work can be conducted even though a subscriber reports a defect with an existing number. CONSTITUTION: Plural systems(100,200,300) are connected together through a dedicated network(400), and are configured to access a number portability information management table(500) through the dedicated network(400). The plural systems(100,200,300) communicate based on TCP/IP through the dedicated network(400). The number portability information management table(500) stores subscriber number information in accordance with a number portability service.
