PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an input unit for a safe relay system etc., which can easily operate equipment even if safe confirmation cannot be performed as to a specified safe component. SOLUTION: An input unit is equipped with an enable circuit which can output safe output even if safe input cannot be obtained as to the specified safe component, an enable input part 32 for obtaining an input state by connecting the specified safe component to be enabled to output safe output even if the enable circuit cannot obtain the safe input, and a normal input part 33 for obtaining an input state by connecting a safe component which stops safe output to disable externally connected equipment to operate if the safe input cannot be obtained irrelevantly to the enable circuit.
