PURPOSE: An oil filling device and a method of a compressor are provided to prevent the compressor from burning by the lack of oil and to obtain good operation performance and reliability by automatically filling up the oil by opening a solenoid valve for the predetermined time if the operation time of the compressor is over the constant time. CONSTITUTION: A device for filling oil consumed according to the driving of a compressor(10) for compressing and exhausting the air at high pressure by receiving power is composed of a supplementary oil tank(70) for storing the supplementary oil; an oil supply pipe(90) installed to connect the supplementary oil tank an intake side of the compressor; a solenoid valve(80) coupled to a power supply unit to open and close the oil supply pipe; and an oil filling switch for controlling the solenoid valve by switching the power applied to the solenoid valve.
