The present invention describes surfactant granulates and methods for producing surfactant granulates. In particular, it relates to methods which allow the production of readily soluble surfactant granulates and detergent and cleaner compositions in a cost-optimized manner. In one embodiment, the invention provides compositions comprising the neutralized form of an anionic surfactant acid, sodium carbonate, and sodium hydrogencarbonate, wherein the weight ratio of sodium carbonate to sodium hydrogencarbonate is from 5:1 to 2:1.
