FIELD: nonferrous metallurgy. ^ SUBSTANCE: invention relates to dust catching and gas treatment, in particular at aluminum production plants, and can be used for preparation of soda solution used for absorption of fluorine-containing electrolysis gases. Soda solution preparation process comprises mixing cryolite crystallization mother liquor, concentrated soda solution, industrial-grade water, super-slime water, clarified and non-clarified saturated solutions, wherein constant concentrations of soda ash and sodium sulfate in soda solution are maintained by controlling volumes of super-slime water, concentrated soda solution, and industrial-grade water, determined according to existing equations. ^ EFFECT: achieved relative constancy of concentrations of principal components in gas-treatment solutions by means of stabilizing their contents in soda solution supplied to gas treatment. ^ 1 tbl
