PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pen-shaped heating device excellent in safety capable of efficiently boiling liquid like water. SOLUTION: A heater cap 3 is arranged on an outer peripheral surface of a pipe heater 2, with a prescribed gap formed between the heater cap 3 and the pipe heater 2. A suction hole 6 is opened at a lower end side of the heater cap 3, and a plurality of through-holes 8 are formed on the outer peripheral surface of the heater cap 3. When boiling water in a cup, an effect that the water heated at the gap between the pipe heater 2 and the heater cap 3 gets out from the through-holes 8 to the outside of the heater cap 3 to form an ascending current, and an effect that the water on the outside of the heater cap 3 is sucked into the inside of the heater cap 3 from the suction hole 6 by the sucking action of the ascending current are generated, and a good convection of the water in the cup is obtained.
